My Favorite Holiday Treat

Fresh red cranberries in wooden bowls with spices and pine branches

Wow! Can you believe that it’s already time for turkey and dressing? I, for one, feel a little broadsided by the holiday season. Perhaps it’s because most of my day is spend in ‘another world’. But ready or not, here comes Thanksgiving.

My family goes through a “what are we going to have this year?” The choice always between ham or turkey. But one thing is certain: I’ll be making my (almost) famous cranberry Jello mold.

I wanted to share it with you. It’s tasty, tangy, and always a crowd pleaser. Enjoy!

Amy’s Cranberry Mold

2pkg red jello (I like raspberry) 1 1/8 tsp ground cloves

1 can whole cranberry sauce 1 can mandarin oranges

1 cup of cold water ½ cup chopped walnuts or pecans

1 TB lemon juice 1 ½ cup boiling water

¼ tsp ground cinnamon a Jello mold or decorative pan

Mix together jello and boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add cranberry sauce, cold water, lemon juice, and spices. Stir well.

Refrigerate for approximately 1 ½ hour—until thick but not set. Stir in walnuts and oranges. Spray mold/pan with Pam. Pour mixture into mold/pan. Allow to set 4 hours in refrigerator. Serve chilled.

Do you have a favorite Jello recipe? I’d love to hear about it!
